Hip Hop has always provided a voice for the outcasts and the oppressed.

We all do love music. But we hardly consider the efforts made by the musicians and their production teams to come out with an album. Album covers don’t influence us to buy music. But they surely help us identify the specific music we want to listen or purchase .

In the 70s and 80s, album covers became an important part of the music culture, and so more creativity was put in coming out with a good cover art to accompany the music.

Besides the conveniences of identifying specific records, album covers serve the purpose of advertising the musical contents on the album, through the use of graphic designphotography, or illustration.

Here are some Interesting Ghanaian album covers from the 70s and 80s.

Pictures by oer-wout. I really think he needs more credit. His work is beautiful, so why wouldn’t you credit him?
